Sending an e-mail on our network using RoadRunner, Comcast, etc. e-mail account

This tutorial covers the steps necessary to walk a user through how to change their outgoing mail settings in order to send outgoing mail. Typically, when a residential user of Time Warner, Comcast, etc. leaves travels outside of their home with their laptop or device, these providers block the user from being able to send mail when logged onto an ISP other than their own. In order to get around this, you must change the outgoing settings. For most of these ISP's, the settings that need to be changed are:

1.) Switch the outgoing (SMTP) port to 587, ensure SSL is not being used.
2.) Turn on outgoing authentication, ensure the outgoing mail authentication settings are the same as the incoming authentication settings.

As we do not control the ISP/E-Mail provider, this information is not guaranteed to be correct and/or fix the issue. In this case, we suggest you contact the ISP/E-Mail provider directly in order to perform the proper/necessary steps to enable your device to send mail when outside of their home network.
